Just saw the movie Twelve Monkeys with Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. Kind've moved almost to a different level than most other time-traveling movies.
The inside window pane of our backdoor has frozen over with ice and we can see our breath. yeah. I'm talking about inside the house. A puny plastic Christmas tree with a sparse amount of colored lights and no decorations is all the warmth and cheer in this place. Beetles. Yeah, I wasn't kidding. We really can see our breath inside the house.
On the subject of snow, which is a subject that must be touched upon even as that subject has touched us, I'd like to tell you a story of a little boy who had only a bike to get him to school and a friend to catch rides with. This little boy hated snow. One day (the next year), this little boy grew up, got a car, installed studded tires on his car, and learned that snow is the best. The end.
Okay, so, not the best. My roommate tells of dreams of white winter wonderlands and sickening swedish snowboards and dastardly dared doughnuts in parking lots. This is his time of the year. This is not my time of the year.
I dream of driving in the car with the windows down and my head sticking out, going barefoot everywhere and smelling like water and sleeping with the windows open. Yes, sleeping. More of that too.
